Excuse my ignorance, but what's with the strange race times today? 13:53, 14:23 at Donny.

It's a Jockey Club trial for Feb - to try to stop races overlapping. You will notice more on Saturdays when there are more meetings obviously. Google it for more info but that's the reason

Can't see it making a difference on busy race days, you'll still have horses bolting, causing trouble at the start or needing to be re-shod etc
