Someone told me to avoid trading horses that are odds-on (pre-race). Why would that be?

You should really ask that person. They can be some of the most rewarding to trade.

I will take a wild guess and assume that it was one of your Betfair Scalper friends :) Because they probably find scalping a tick or two extremely difficult at such a volatile range.

Were they showing you a particular strategy that doesn't suit odds on markets?
