Just take a bit of care if you are looking to use the same techniques on USA Horseracing markets, BF are generally reliable at suspending UK greyhound markets, this is not the case with USA Horseracing markets, the scheduled off time can seem like a vague notion by comparison too.

warning noted and thank you - only tinkered so far and maybe I ve been lucky but it has worked 100% so far - I get out for a lower % than the dogs.
plenty of other markets where this strategy can be tested and expected to work, be slightly different rules for sure - only just scratched the surface.

I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms. :)

Now focussing on the B2L element as I'm comfortable with the L2B process.

Hi,

There are allot of angles you can take on Greyhounds, one which works on certain horse races:

Example:

- if the LTP is < (High - 15 ticks) in the final minute then place a speculative LTB.

Reason being many traders will start to take their profits by entering Lay trades which in turn will raise the price.

Have fun,

:D

Makes sense

My recent observation; When the volume traded, hits a certain sweetspot, the odds start to move in a pattern that gets repeated. Must be the bots rinsing/repeating their entry and exits. Also, sometimes, there's an over reaction to price movement(s) on the market leaders. Can easily swing 8 ticks+ either way.

i've not really seen the repeatable pattern aspect in terms of volume sweetspot (that would suggest a kind of tracer elemnt), however, I will say that when you have a runner that has been over traded, if you see that its vol% < book%. then there's a good chance that a bit of *deflation* is likely to occur. the pattern to take away from this is that as one runner's price is correcting, then one or more runners (even with little trades) are moving in to balance the 101% book.

been fascinated by this *pattern* (i call it pistons) for quite a few years as many on here will attest to;)

Have noticed this happens in the Forex market (country times specific) when the actual markets close for the day. Of course the forex continues on, but the pattern/habit, tends to get repeated.

FWIW, I'll post up some findings later on.

you can mitigate this in 2 ways really:

1. Only place bets when the market is not in play. This is a condition in the rules: Inplay Condition = The market is NOT in play. This is the 1st condition in the dropdown. Also, ensure that you only fire in bets no later than 30 seconds before the off

2. Setup a GREEN out rule that runs at 15-20 seconds pre-off. This way, any unmatched bets are greened/redded out and you are isolated from full stake losses.
