I was just wondering how accurate the manufacture's specs would be. I'd love to hear from someone who's tested it. Haven't had a power cut for a few years but I really think I should get one of these devices. I'd only need power long enough to close trade.

I went to the cinema with my lads last night around 5pm...the Mrs called shortly afterwards to say there had been a power cut (and I had automation running on my PC...)

..and was delighted to see the system stayed up and continued to bet after the power was restored. (I had a great result in the 17:30 (I think) that would have easily paid for the UPS multiple times, so worth thinking about if your in the market for a UPS)

That's the one I've got. I'm lucky if I get 3mins (probably a min more if I didn't have my screens on). That's plenty if you're there and just need to close down but not too good if you're away. These days though everything is on VSP so thankfully the flakey power here isn't so much of an issue.

Is anybody else having issues loading markets into Guardian?

I have 6 Bet Angels running with no issues however I can't load markets on the 7th screen. The market rows will show with the start times but no other details (no volume, no bets, no event name etc). I've tried on another pc and I'm getting the same problem. I've run at least 10 screens at the same time before with no issues, both machines are more than capable.

I've seen something similar with guardian not loading on the 'n'th instance of Bet Angel. If I turn off streaming on that instance then guardian will recommence loading data.

So my question is: "Is there a Betfair (or Bet Angel) limit on the number of instances that can use streaming?"

Have you tested how long it would power a laptop/desktop for?

Yes they are only small these devices; I just use it for my PC and NAS drives. I havent tested it but I would imagine it will only be 10 or 20 mins for my PC?
We tend to have at least 3 or 4 power failures a year (but only for a few mins), Im never really exposed these days on betfair so not worried about that. My idea was that if there were a failure, my PC would automatically reconnect when the power restored and carry on.

Yeah .. bets not recorded as matched until maybe 45 secs later.

Getting lots of streaming connection issues today as well.

We've re-coded Bet Angel recently to be more resilient to streaming faults.

Something was amiss though based on what I was observing prior to the 19:00 and that was with the latest BA version and streaming.

Basically the displayed ladder amounts were static while the ladder volumes were being updated (away from the touch point) and the coloured trade indicators were flashing. Went for my dinner and all seemed OK in the 19:30. I have never seen anything like that before.

That's not a problem that this api fckps happen, that's understandable: there will be bugs while developing new features.
The problem is that they don't declare this broken lame markets as "not valid" and don't resettle market and don't void (like they used to do) unfairly matched bets!
