I quite like this site for weather - also has webcam locations that you can click on to see actual weather.

Oooooo that's pretty!

When was the last major race meeting cancelled due to wind? What sort of gusts did they get up to?

EDIT: Not major meetings but last time was fairly recently. Gale force winds, and we are forecast gale force gusts on Tuesday!!!! This meeting is doomed isn't it?!

With all that wind, will it move the virus over larger areas?

The Met office seems to predict Storm Clodagh will arrive on Sunday and dissipate soon after... :?

They've aptly given the storm an Northern Ireland lilt to it, as that region is predicted to be the worst hit area.

Phase Two...https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51749352
Phase Two is a concern, if the powers to be interpret a horse racing festival as a big event. Economically it is, crowd mass yes, for sure. They also need a good news story to lighten the mood. Cheltenham going ahead would provide one. (who knows how they think)

Here's one they think will cheer us all up....

This a bit easier to see? (the key refers to wind gust speed)

If not just click on the link and mess about with options (forecast timeline is at bottom)

Interesting story https://twitter.com/RacingEra/status/12 ... 60/photo/1

If you're not on Twitter, #SuperSaturday @Meydan is now being run behind closed doors. UAE had 29 confirmed cases to date...

I was looking at tickets for Meydan and starting scouting hotels. Always wanted to go, but looks like it won't be this year.

No updates yet on the numbers, this would be the latest they have released it.

Hmmmm....no 2pm update today, well, not yet. Big announcement incoming?

I think I actually may be enjoying the drama of this a bit too much. But hey, given I'm in an at risk group, may as well enjoy my final days on this planet!!!!

The market is really quiet as well. Odd. Seems no news anywhere!

"The Department of Health and Social Care will be publishing updated data on this page every day at 2pm until further notice."

So either something is going on, might be to do with moving to Phase 2, or it's just a glimpse into an incompetent new government :D
