"The Department of Health and Social Care will be publishing updated data on this page every day at 2pm until further notice."

So either something is going on, might be to do with moving to Phase 2, or it's just a glimpse into an incompetent new government :D
any mention of phase 2 and events likely to be cancelled and those odds are out from 1.3->2.5

Something's happening all of a sudden, 3.7k gobbled up. Who knows something?

I had 119 or higher as 'bad' on my projection. So that's about the expected number.

What do you have for your predictions for tomorrow's figures?

Too late. I'm on a maximum, 147. I'm working on a steady increase that will suddenly kick off (i.e. 50-100 confirmed cases a day) over the weekend.

Looks as though Cheltenham are taking the lead with pro-active advice for racegoers.

There's a massive difference between speculating figures and wanting/hoping for increases. No one wants this to happen.

Personally, most of my comments can be put down to gallows humour. My Dad should've died in August after he contracted sepsis. He survived that but if this comes anywhere near him, he's f*cked. I've got asthma, if I get it, I could very well be f*cked.

I apologise if my comments have offended, I don't think I am a bad person for trying to make light of a sh*te situation but what else am I supposed to do? Sit back and await Death's visit to my Dad's care home or my home? Nah you're alright. I'd much rather laugh at the bloke in the big black sheet and tell him his scythe needs sharpening.

Even 160 is only 0.00026% of the population and only 1/50 of those will die, and they'll already have a preexisting serious condition. And it has a T0 of just 2.1. (R0 is the number of people an infected person transmits it to)

Compare that with TB. An R0 of 10.0, 10 million cases worldwide and 1.5 million deaths per year. (9,000 cases in the UK and 200+ deaths).

Rolling news sure loves to create drama. This new virus is on a par with pneumonia (aka the old man's friend) as it's the combination of it and serous illness that kills you rather than the virus itself.

With that and the weather looking windy, as opposed to gale force, surely we're in free money territory now?! Even if the government cancel mass gatherings, you can see Cheltenham following Meydans example and running it behind closed doors. Or am I being uncharacteristically optimistic?

Having said that, just seen the weather forecast on the Beeb. Gale force winds for the first half of the week. Eeek!
