i was just comparing the full SP results from yesterday with some of my selections (based on a new system), and copied and pasted in Archery's into the table out of interest
I know Archery's system is looking for runners that will lengthen or shorten, but if they were straight forward backs or lays, the results would have been £9.37 on the backs and £24.43 for the lays (discounting commission), £2 stakes
(I noticed there were some massive BSP's so not sure how this would pan out over a longer period of time, esp the lays)
No comments as such, just posting out of interest
(By the way; Nice results Archery overall, long may it continue )

Various stakes depending on the market's volume, certainly more than £2's.

You've got brilliant returns of £73 and £43 for £2 stakes, Peter. Good thing with the dogs is there are just so many races, bad thing is liquidity is usually poor but should always beat SP.

I just bot to what I see as value , jim, so some close others don't, for my bots everything has a lay and back value price but both aren't always filled.

Straight back or lays, no trading out. (I tend to do this on he Horseracing these days too as over the long period, it works out better for me)

SB - Yes, could be some over fitting on my part! We'll see over the longer term. It will be a while before I get to £600/Day ! Excellent by the way!

Yep, until you stick your money into the market you never really know how it will react, especially as the markets are pretty much overrun with bots. But £116 for £2 stakes has got to be encouraging and won't be long before you're hitting £600 days with those type of figures.

My python botting has taken a back seat unfortunately, coded a few bits and pieces including a scraper for the sportinglife dogs but still haven't got round to porting my other bots to python. Guess it's a case of "if it isn't broken". I've coded my login and bet routines so really just need the enthusiasm to cobble them all together into a bot. Trouble is when I'm at the PC I'll usually be trading and when I'm not trading I really don't fancy getting on the PC before 1. I need to set aside a week I reckon as I'd like to scroll thru Liams code for the streaming data routines.

Fantastic results Spreadbetting! Especially when liquidity it's not that good on greyhounds. It adds up with so many races.

Like I said to Jimbt, I simply bet what I think is value so if a value back or lay doesn't get taken so be it. As you say, with dogs it's more of a scattergun approach as there's just so many races, if you can find some approach with a positive return you'll eventually come out on top. And with so many races that usually comes sooner rather than later. Biggest win yesterday was £101 and biggest loss £51 but the majority weren't at those levels. Today is only +£114 but plenty of races still to come.

Didnt think this thread would still be going after all this time. Although still short compared to others.

To the newcomers who are struggling, keep at it using small stakes and watch the markets, they come very fast but you will spot things which you can take advantage of.

Many great poeple on the forum and espeically this thread.
