Irish racing shelved for the foreseeable
Just heard that on the news. Not surprised.

Time to hang up the trading boots for the foreseeable.

Any news on the Government package for Betfair traders?

Yeah, you can get a refund on the income tax you've paid. ;)

From today, all sporting events in Ireland, even those without spectators, would be cancelled, until at least April 19th

by the way the last one at clonmel today was very good. a NHF with over a million matched what in a normal day would have been max 300k

I'm busy working in the garden.
Have you got any compost you can send me? Dozens of empty patio plant pots, trays full of seedlings, and f-all to plant them in. A couple of days notice would have been nice.
Just been into Lidl to get my seeds. All gone - except watermelons and pumpkins. Didn't see that coming, I thought people would be too busy searching for bog roll. Now I'll have to go online and pay £20 for £5 worth of veg and grow it myself!

Some good news, ASDA have filled all their empty shelves with cases of Stella, and nobody's buying them, they're no longer considered essential. :D

US racing is very low liquidity, and can be quite volatile, very different to UK markets. Most traders don't feel it's worthwhile. Personally, I enjoy making a few quid on it but you won't attain your usual stakes on them.

i believe because they have mainly pool betting markets there, the prices are less stable as betfair adjusts to the fixed bookmaker prices?

It's the other way round. Bookies adjust to Betfair prices eventually. The main reason for lack of stability is lack of money in the market.

ok probably you are right there are rarely arbing possibility as bookmakers will adjust already before and builds in a margin
South africa, Meydan in Dubai very stable compared to US racing often worse turnover
