Depends on what criteria you're looking for to enter a trade surely. I have an automation file that I am running on Greyhounds and Horse racing markets, the only adjustment to the file is timing so that it trades a little further out on horse racing than greyhounds other than that it's the same. It doesn't matter if greyhounds, horses or if Betfair introduce snail racing tomorrrow. As long as there is enough liquidity and volatility it'll trade the same as it's only looking for minute differences in the bid/ask prices and taking an entry point and offering 'value' to someone else. Yes you might not be able to trade a race with an odds on favourite the same way you can trade a market with 3 horses/dogs/snails all around the same price but what difference does the species make?
Interesting approach Shaun. So your trading style does not care if a dog market trades differently than a horse market? A MAGIC method for all markets? Many times I read that you can't trade different markets in the same way but it seems you can!

I have been watching/trading Greyhound races a lot lately as its the only 'sport' that you can trade all day due to the CoronaVirus. I have to say the dogs do trade differently to Horse Racing. I can't really say too much without giving away my edge but Greyhounds do trade differently to Horse Racing, the are a lot more volatile to start with.

They've been covering a couple of the Irish dog tracks for a week or two. Not sure exactly now long until I check my data.
As I posted in another thread Irish dogs could go in light of new restrictions.

I had a message from them today saying that they will be continuing to provide a full service during the lock down. Your sympathy for them sounded sarcastic but a few weeks ago PP estimated the Covid impact on their bottom line at £110m, it's going to be a lot more than that now the situation has worsened.
Update from GBGB
A sport in a very parlous state, 50 pence per dog per trainer being released to support basic dog welfare.

50p a day seems insultingly ridiculous.
It doesn't seem as if any effort has been made by the gbgb. Behind closed doors with some effort to mitigate risk of infection I'm not really sure this is the correct interpretation of the governments current rules?

They were told they couldn't continue by the government as it was a gathering of more than 2 people for racing, work necessity was the care and welfare.Though it does beg the question how some other businesses are being allowed to continue as they don't constitute care and welfare.

Under the new government restrictions, DCMS has responded that ‘work necessity’ will cover the care and welfare of greyhound residential kennels. Racing would constitute a ‘gathering of more than two people’.
falling under that banner does make it a bit odd tbh. as you say, practically every other business that is still running either has staff that exceed the threshold and/or customers. crazy times, so alas umbrella approach. in truth, i guess it saves any ambiguity for the likes of businesses run by mike ashley!!PDC wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 10:52 amRead the full press release to get the full understanding:

except I think Sports Directs warehouses and online business continues (perhaps I am mistaken)?
