A glimmer of light?
Coronavirus: NHS capacity 'won't be breached at national level'.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52035615
I bow to the knowledge of the expert, but I can't see any way the NHS will be anything but swamped between mid-April and early August. I hope to God I'm wrong...
Positive news, being swamped is better than being overwhelmed, with a real risk of elderly patients having their ventilator switched off and allowed to die so that somebody with a better chance can have it - dreadful scenario.

B&Q have closed all their stores in preparation for reopening them with protective measures. Can't happen soon enough, nows the time everybody wants to work in their garden.

With hindsight we should have had the lockdown earlier, but people are certainly adhering to it. Can't believe how quiet it is. It's quite surreal, I feel like I'm in an abandoned town.

I'm not so sure, tbh its literally a game of chance, I get the feeling they were trying to get the NHS to capcity (will be atleast another 10 days before we see any effects of the lockdown) by which time thats when I suspect they expect the NHS to reach it, then the lockdown effect should start and hopefully begin to bring the numbers down.

If they went a bit earlier they'd of keep the positive cases lower but unless it was a long lockdown then we'd likely see a spike as soon as it was lifted and either need another lockdown or risk being over capcity then

Either way I'd hate to be in Johnsons and the govt. shoes now having to make these desisions!

NHS runs at 80% to 100% on a normal day. Breaking the system for some reason or another was inevitable. Good news about maybe coping on a national level but that news mustn't create complacency.

477,000 applications for Universal credit in last 9 day. A Universal Basic Income must be on the cards and hopefully it'll stay in place. Makes sense on every level and should have been the way fwd instead of the Universal Credit white elephant which was just a tweek and a rebrand.

For the first time since the crisis began, I've seen bog roll on the shelves and people smugly walking past as though they don't even need to shit. :) Looks like the nation has finally got enough bog roll. Only a 3-minute queue to get into ASDA and plenty of food available. I hope that's the end of the hysteria.

I hope the supermarkets are going to reward their staff with some of the extra income they receive, for all the hard work they've had to do. They've been like an emergency service for the last few weeks.

My missus reminded me that the clocks go back this weekend - so we get an extra hour indoors!
