Its been announced today that they now have an untested vaccine. Trials will start in the next few days. If its successful then red tape will be bypassed and production will begin in 3 weeks time.
What was the source of this?

I don't think I would fancy taking a vaccine that has bypassed red tape, I would sooner take my chances with CV than the totally unknown side effects of a rushed and largely untested vaccine, 3 weeks of testing to production, I find that impossible to believe. This report would go against everything I have seen and speaking to health care professionals they also see this as impossible.

From the Guardian:
Claim: ‘A vaccine could be ready within a few months’
Scientists were quick out of the gates in beginning development of a vaccine for the new coronavirus, helped by the early release of the genetic sequence by Chinese researchers. The development of a viable vaccine continues apace, with several teams now testing candidates in animal experiments. However, the incremental trials required before a commercial vaccine could be rolled out are still a lengthy undertaking – and an essential one to ensure that even rare side-effects are spotted. A commercially available vaccine within a year would be quick.’

Bill Gates: State-by-state shutdown won't work
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation co-founder Bill Gates says that the US should shutdown the entire country for a short period of time to control the spread of the coronavirus and predicts that the number of cases will peak in late April.

"The actual Grand National may be off but next weekend will still feature a televised Virtual Grand National.

Forty runners who would have been most likely to line up will take part, using CGI technology and special algorithms.

Tiger Roll had been due to seek an unprecedented third consecutive win in the big race on Saturday, 4 April before it was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The virtual race will be broadcast by ITV at 17:00 BST the same day.

Executive producer Rob McLoughlin said: "We use the latest CGI technology and algorithms and were ready to go ahead as a forerunner to the big race, but now we want to cheer the nation up and ask the computer if history could have been made."

Positives so far:

500.000+ volunteers sign up to NHS.
Pollution levels drop.
Homeless to get housed.
Community work outs at home.
Stock Markets provide cheap opportunities.

With all the doom and gloom at every each angle our eyes look, this post is a refreshing outlook 👌

They bypass red tape all the time when it suits them. You/we have probably had some kind of vaccine in the past that wasnt properly tested.

On this one, 500 people will be tested over a 2 week period, if >= 80% are fine then its good to go, given the current circumstances.

Great video. Thanks for posting.
Fascinating that he's unequivocal about the role youngsters have in controlling the spread and if they cooperate they can help lighten the load on the health workers.

And no noisy traffic, children screaming on the way home from school or drunks shouting on the way back from the pub. :D

The police's ability to tackle crime is concerning, but let's face it, burglars have to stay at home because everybody else is at home.

Lots of positives for all the wildlife and animals too who are wondering where all the humans have gone allowing them to enjoy the piece and quiet having the outdoors largely back to themselves
