You laid the horse on what grounds?
And how much did you risk to make your £600?
Sounds like gambling on no real information to me

I risked £1020 to win £600. I am not just a trader, I am a gambler as well. I am also part of a syndacate which includes parteners from Italy and USA ( started january the 7th). we get n touch with skype or msm. We all agreed to lay some horses yesterday and today based on these unusuall ammount of money. the results astonished us with 4 favorites to come last and 1 to come 2nd but far behind the winner. On the last flat race at lingfield the horse we bet against finished the race without the jockey...andyfuller wrote:You laid the horse on what grounds?

As Jim said it is your money..but firstly be careful joining up with others as this has tax implications if you are based in the UK - not sure if your are.enzabella2009 wrote:I am also part of a syndacate which includes parteners from Italy and USA ( started january the 7th). we get n touch with skype or msm. Especially be careful joining up with someone based in the USA as it is against the law for them to use Betfair and for you to be involved in them placing bets. I think there are issues with people based in Italy but I am not sure on that.
I am surprised the results astonished you if you were willing to risk such a large amount of money as I would have thought you would be confident in your picks to have placed such bets. Though from the above it seems you are only laying these horses due to the drifting in the market - if so this is a very very risky strategy - plenty of drifters win as I am sure you are aware, even ones that drift so badly everyone expects them to loose.
Do you really think someone is fixing all of these races - if you were taking the risk of fixing races you would imo be very foolish to do so many in such a short space of time. Are you sure it isn't just the market correcting?
There is nothing wrong with gambling but if it were me I would want to do it on an informed basis and not on someone else deciding a horse is too short and therefore the price drifts. Especially not if I was risking the levels of money you are.
Good luck but be careful on many levels.

there is nothing unusual at all about horses dramatically drifting late on, happens everyday and some win, some lose,
It's crazy imo to think it's some kind of indication to lay because the race is fixed
there are many many reasons for a horse to drift late in the day, such as the Horse playing up going to post or loading, traders exiting there positions after a horse is heavily backed
and of cause the bookies laying off,
to name just a few,
you will lose money 100% imo doing this
if this is the only criteria you use for your lay selection.
