When I was trading Forex back in the day there was a thread on a forum called KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) about how you shouldn't over complicate trading strategies and use too many indicators on a chart, analysis paralysis type thing.

With there not being much UK racing at the moment I thought I'd use this time to trade a few different markets Aus greyhounds, US horse racing that type of thing that I wouldn't normally consider.

I thought I'd start really simple, some of the bots I've come up in the past have had a crazy amount of detail, stored values, signals looking at a multitude of things. The bot I made about 2 weeks ago just lays a particular horse (price dependent) 10s out depending on the favourite's current price, number of runners and the 5th favourite's price. That's it. And in 2 weeks at 0.2p a lay across nearly 2000 markets it's making average £1 a day!?

Surely it can't be that easy, is this an edge I've found!?

Is that not minimum bet abuse?

Sounds all good. Sounds like a reverse of the little acorns lay system.

I found my best performing B2L/L2B strategies by mistake. I thought I'd set them up as per norm, when I went back to it, the entry points and the volume traded settings were different (loaded up a previous version). Looked too good to be true, but has remained consistent to this day.

I'm not quite sure how you make a "0.2p" lay - maybe you mean 2p, but whichever it is Betfair will not be able to take their percentage from such a tiny amount - so at best you'll either be able to continue earning £1 a day for all your efforts or you'll scale it up and discover that your edge simply becomes their commission.

Sorry I mean it sticks in a lay bet at 20p normally for around 60p - £2 liability

Interesting, I guess the only thing to do is just continue and see what happens with scaling up. It really does seem far too simple to work long term though.
