I think it's accepted now that most of us will have to get it eventually. Once the infection rates drop and the NHS start to cope, things should be eased off and a controlled, widespread infection will be allowed to take place.

By then, a CV19 vaccine (of sorts) will be available and patients will get treated in the same way a severe case of flu does nowadays, with a lesser rate of death, due to the result of herd immunity.

That's not anticipated until next year. We can't remain in lockdown until then so they'll have to ease restrictions as soon as hospitalisation falls under control.

Looks as though you've gotta be catatonic to get referred....
As we now discover that our quoted figures are only those that were hospitalized - I wouldn't be too hopeful about getting in if referred:

1,543
Cases which had an outcome:
135 (9%)
Recovered / Discharged

1,408 (91%)
Deaths

My eldest neice has it, was told to stay home, deteriorated, now has pneumonia but due to their being no beds available has been told to stay at home and an oxygen mask / canister was delivered to her house. She is 36. They prioritising the elderly and those with underlying health conditions. So i guess they doing the right thing.

I had always assumed only the worst would be in hospital. If you are young they seem to be taking the view that you can probably fight it at home, though it won't be pleasant. Numbers are obviously way higher than people widely are aware of.

Strange thing is my neice is a Nurse, because they wont admit her to hospital, they not doing the test. Unless ofcourse she has something else.

Odd though because i would have thought they would want her to get better quickly so she can go back to work to help the others, which she wants todo.

It's quite worrying that somebody with pneumonia, who under normal circumstances would be admitted to hospital, now has to recover at home. Hope she makes a quick recovery.

missus’ cousin (49) who I indirectly work with has had it for 7 days now, he’s felt like shit with fever, aches & pains, says he’s feeling better gradually day by day but no coughing episodes, I’m going out as little as possible as I have asthma but under the level deemed as having severe asthma so able to work

so looking forward to getting back to normal, whatever normal is

Tampa Bay as well as Will Roger Downs on this evening. Hopefully some bored traders will join the party.

anyone know a site that displays amounts wagered on each runner in the tote pools? that would be a good indicator and potentially arbing possibility as well. price indiactor they display 5 at race start and then pay out 3.50, completely unreliable
