Coronavirus - A pale horse,4 men and ....beer
Yes, I'm beginning to smell a rat with this. People have accused China of fiddling the figures, but we seem to be hiding behind "international standards of recording".Derek27 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 1:32 pmIt's quite concerning that people in care homes (my mum included) are being allowed to die there without even being tested. I realise if there's a shortage of ventilators the elderly would not be a priority but I didn't think it would be routine to leave covid-19 sufferers in the care of care staff.
Nobody cares about standards its about the number that Coronavirus is causing over and above 'normal' death rates. I appreciate its difficult to attribute cause of death to CV or something else that a CV patient already has.
But for sure, i can see the media circling and Labour treading carefully. Trying to sound supportive, but setting up their stall for post-cv criticism of the govt's preparedness and response.

Surely they could bottle and sell it to supermarkets at a much-reduced price?
Really hate to say this, but following reports on Sky Press Preview a couple of days ago that people in the UK are sleeping longer, having more vivid dreams and dreaming of Boris Johnson, last night I dreamt he was my doctor.

6000 deaths above the 5 year average. But only half are accounted for by Coronavirus.
Perhaps they are all undetected corona deaths, but what if they aren't?
That means we have something else going on.
Another virus?
Deaths caused by the chaos NHS has been pitched into?
Deaths caused by the socia-economic impact of shutting down the economy?
On here we're all about data, so I doubt anyone will jump to conclusions.
I just hope the govt aren't indulging in the old adage "There's lies, damn lies and statistics".

The week before they closed the schools grocery sales in the UK were 46% up year on year. Following 2 weeks 12% down and 2.1% down.
I was caught on the hop, believing people are basically sensible.
A lot of people went out and bought more than 2 weeks of supplies.
Fair play to them!
I won't forget this episode.
And now just watching the daily downing street broadcast. Noticiing an increasing incidence of journo's suffering 'technical problems'.
Perhaps their questions are vetted anyway, but it doesn't look good.
Is everyone primed to assume conspiracy?
Did you not notice that the journalist that had the technical difficulty was not ignored, his first question was answered and when the technical issue was sorted he was brought back to ask his remaining questions? The journalists were asking the the hard and awkward questions as well as the partisan and unecessary - hardly seems vetted. All were given the opportunity to have a follow up after their question was answered. Thats not how they do it elswhere.

I'm not sure who, if anyone cares... I just found the Groceries curve interesting, I'd imagine the curve in the UK would look pretty similar given that it was produced by fear & I think humans behaved the same in numerous places around the globe.greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 5:42 pmThats the US?
