Afternoon all,

I'm totally new to all this. Have been using Bet Angel for a few months to do some scalping. Not done very well but that's been all down to me not being able to read the markets well enough.

So, thought i'd look in here and thought about BOTS.

First question - I know it's going to be a bit silly and i'll get all sorts of replies, but generally, are BOTs easy to create, as I may aswell spend some lock down time looking in to it?

Second question - I haven't logged in for about 3 weeks as i'm strict about the amount I have to bet with each month, so not ready to deposit stake money again until the 1st May. I was playing with the USA, Australian and South African races just throgh boredom more than anything. They seemed pretty erratic to me - is this the case, or do they tend to mirror UK races more, once in-play, as that's where I want to use my BOTS?

The advanced automation in Bet Angel is very easy to use once you understand the basics, there's a few useful links in this post to help get you started. Once you do get to grips you'll find enough options to create a bot for almost any circumstance

The erratic behaviour your seeing is due to your account being restricted by Betfair, you'll need to deposit funds to get this restiction lifted. Until then there's not point in doing aything with it, what your seeing is delayed and ad-hoc data so bares no reflection on what the live markets look and feel like

Hi Dallas,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll have a look at the links and try and get my head around it.

I don't think the erratic behaviour is a funding issue as I had money in there and was scalping (well, attempting to) with anything from £2.00 to £10.00 stakes.

That said, my normal Betfair account was restricted years ago and cannot get a bet on above £1.00 but surely if I am using the Exchange for all my trading and scalping, that would not affect the way a racing market worked through Bet Angel software?

It just felt like the odds pinged about a fair bit more than the UK markets, with not many settled spells, especially for scalping. I didn't know if maybe the other countries markets were never as stable s ours?

If you were restricted on their sports book that wont have any effect on the exchange.

The weaker markets are a little more volatile and bouncy compared to UK markets but guess its how you define erratic

The easiest way to tell is if your ladder look like it does in the post if so then its restricted

Some of the markets are weak and erratic, that is you first clue for a bot. Look for weak markets and look for jumping
