As someone that periodically 'goes off the deep end' I feel for that guy. Can't approve his choice of language or his opinions, but that is someone really, really suffering lockdown fatigue. Hope he was able to chill out after that ejaculation.

We had that, smear grease (engine not cooking) on the pole holding the feeder, that stops them climbing but of course they're still attracted by the bits the birds drop. So when you're at the garden centre (hopefully) get some Jeyes fluid, dilute it and pour it on the regular rat runs weekly. Then the rats will move to the neighbours because it messes up their sense of smell It's pointless trying to kill them cos you'll jus get others moving in. It's worked a treat and we haven't seen one for several months.

We tried humane traps but the little sods totally ignored them. Why go in a scary box when the patio is covered in sunflower seeds. They have poor eyesight and rely on smell, so creating a situation where that's messed up seems to work....touch wood. Citronella works too apparently but it's bloody expensive.

I had a rat problem when I farmed pigs, I found an air rifle worked best! Rats are not stupid and quickly identified a 'killing field' and went in search of safer food. I'm not one for killing for the sake of it but if you catch and release you are really just passing the problem on to someone else.

That's certainly more humane than poison. We've got a Jack Russell which you'd think could do the job but at 14yo it's lost it's edge and likely to come off worse

Did not want to use poison as we have regular flypasts from Buzzards/Sparrowhawks so have gone down the Air Rifle route. If the Jeyes works fantastic result but nice to have option 2 ready if not.

Why do Americans (guess based on accent) treat guns so flippantly. He may find it fun to shoot at armour plate from 10 yards but what about all the rounds sent off into the beyond when he couldn't handle the recoil? That's not so funny for anything that gets in the way ... idiot. (Nothing personal Archery, commenting on the idiot in the vid )

Yeah we have many birds of prey and the cats, badgers, foxes etc. and of course we had the pigs ... they would happily eat almost anything dead or alive!

Its public land, believe it or not Americans are allowed to hunt or play with firearms on said land. However, like all forms of shooting they are supposed to observe backstops etc and would be liable if there was someone else nearby that got shot because of their stupid actions. Only certain states allow private citizens to purhase such items, texas being one and they have to have an extended FBI check before being granted a class iii license. Mind you i wouldnt want to be a police officer coming up against such weapons. Scary stuff. But its in there constitution and you would need all states to agree to change it which is very unlikely as texas and others would just say get stuffed to the federal government. What a future president could do is sign an executive order but then how would they enforce it, estimates say there are over 300 million firearms in circulation and asking people to hand them in would be pointless, most americans i know would rather go to war with the state and federal government than hand them in. Its a way of life for many with guns being handed down from great grandfaters and below. They are trying todo something in virgina at the moment but that has seen a spike in militia membership and gun / ammo sales going through the roof. Like many have said its too late to turn back now as under their rules they dont know who has what or how many. Again, scary stuff.
