Afternoon all,

I'm looking at doing one of those crazy compounding betting runs, betting all of my balance to win tiny amounts, then rinse and repeat until I get to a stage where i'll take some cash out, or lose the lot :)

At present, I want to do this by laying big odds horses and have a few questions.

Is there a way within Betangel, that at a click of a button, I can enter a lay bet that automatically calculates the stake required, using all of my current balance so I don't have to try and calculate myself.

Second question, if the race goes in place, I presume i'd have to click 'keep all' to hold the bet in the market whilst they are running?

And thirdly, if during the race, the odds never get to my lay bet odds, does that mean that my full balance is returned to me, or do I lose the lot?

Hope this makes sense. Obviously I can't try this in practice mode as I have no balance to use

Thanks very much

You can use the staking method 'By liability percentage of balance' with an automation or a servant

But i really really really would not do what your looking at doing, I can guarantee its only a matter of time before you blow your whole bank

Q2 Yes

Q3 If your bet isn't matched it is returned to you after the market closes or you cancel it

Thanks very much as always very helpful Dallas.

Do I presume that i'd be setting the liabilty to 100%? If so, can this be done as a general setting at the start of the session rather than a BOT, if not could you please give me an idea how to do it?

And don't worry - it really is just a bit of fun to keep me amused whilst in lock-down. Only starting with £50.00 and seeing where it takes me

Hi HampshireIan

I PMed you with a clip of a guy blowing his bank by laying big odds in a race.

Mind you, there are even quicker ways to donate your money : https://www.nhscharitiestogether.co.uk/

Best of luck either way :ugeek:

Don't worry Kai, it's only £50 mate, and as it happens, I do donate to the NHS Charity so win win 8-)

Just watched the clip - couldn't see the odds of the winning horse, but presume it was a biggun ;)

ian - if you're doing it for a bit of fun, then it really could be chair gripping to see how many succesful bets you have before the wipeout high odds winner arrives. might be nice if we actually started a sweep stake on here. I'll go 1st:

depending on average odds (i.e. > 20 maybe and assuming ONE runner per race), then I'll go for 18 successes, then bing bong :D

Even with a reasonable staking plan the unexpected high odds Lay that wins wipes out all the previous successes as per the screenshot below. You will need lots of luck...

The calculation is easy, after the first few it's zero.

Rather than playing Russian Roulette it might be more useful to spend the time learning what a lay bet is?

Tough crowd for a simple question. As I said, it's a bit of fun with a few quid, not a life-changing opportunity :D

ian - of course -lol. might be interesting tho to publish your avg odds so far vs the number of bets placed. there is an unnerving cosmic fact that the odds are generally very efficient and once you BEAT the average, then the clanger isn't too far off. interesting little diversion tho but ultimately will fail and may not instruct you on too much as it could happen after 1 bet (which it hasn't) or 50 bets [or anywhere in between].
