Hi

I watched a video about placing a bet with an offset and a stoploss, I understood the gist of this but have a question it didnt cover. The video shows placing a bet with an offset without greening. So lets make up some numbers for an example

Place back bet of £2 at 3.00, with an offset such it places a lay bet of £2.00 at X ticks below 3.00. This is triggered if the price moves down in our favour. However if the price drifts we have placed a stoploss bet Y ticks above our back bet. and that triggers a lay bet of £2.00 to fire, such that we lose money but less that our initial £2.00 bet.

But what happens if we have selected offset with greening ? The video didnt mention this.
The offset lay bet we get in this case would be say £.2.50 at X ticks below out back bet. If the price now moves against us, does BetAngel just effectively move this £2.50 bet up to the stoploss point or place a stoploss of £2.00 or some other amount at the stoploss price ?

It is just moves the stoploss of £2.50 up to the stoploss point, this might be quite an expensive liability.

Hope that question made sense, thanks for any clarification

You have the option in your main settings on the 'staking' tab to tell Bet Angel how you want the stop loss bet to be calculated

hi Dallas

Thanks for that, I hadnt noticed that in the manual.

However I am not much wiser now. I havent got a working sub for betAngel at the moment so i cant tinker with it to try and understand it

Whats the options in that drop down box, and what does "Recalculate stake at Trigger price " actually do.

If you have a few minutes to spare, an example with some numbers would make it understandable.

Thanks again

Here are the options

Assuming you are offsetting with greening effectivly using these options BA will calculate the amount needed to green up (for a loss) at the price you either have the stop triggered or placed at, if its done at the place at price and matched you'll have an even loss across all selections just as if you manually greened up at that price

Using the offset stake would as your OP stated potentially lead to large losses especially if your using larger offsets and/or are not greening

Thanks Dallas

I will have a ponder of that. It is a little tricky and complicated, takes a bit of wrapping your head around.

Might be a good subject for one of Peter's future videos, a few worked examples.

If you try the software within 2 or 3 clicks you'll see the differences, all they do is tell the software which of the three prices to use to calculate the stop loss stake
