UK racing "closing speed" index

I'm trying to find ratings on a horses last quarter speed. In the US we call it " closing speed". I think you UK guys would say "held up" maybe? Basically looking for closers. Any help is greatly appreciated

Not sure if they would be as effective as the US, where courses are similar and all races run at a good pace.

yep. the more i think about it you're right. I just wish there were more liquidity in the US markets because the "closer" angle there is very effective in my experience. I think ( hope ) Betfair will be coming to the US in the near future.

'Sectional timing' is now used for all horses (not just closers), and takes into account different topographies etc. A lot of this is now in the public domain, due to people like Simon Rowlands (ex Timeform).
