Mention the Bible and you'll always be seen as a soft target. I would hit anyone with sky daddy jokes or some Hitchens/Dawkins
Yeah, but not everyone that pokes a bit of light-hearted fun has to be an atheist. I for example have no plans on discussing my religious beliefs on a trading forum, but if I were a devout Christian that would sort of give me the right to poke a bit of harmless fun at my own religion, would be one of the perks of having a forgiving God :)

But people usually take their beliefs very seriously so telling them what to believe or not would be crossing the line for me and it's not my idea of fun.

Just wanted to make that clear before anyone gets grievously offended :)

That's a turn up for the books, you not discussing religion, you seem to post your views on every topic that ever gets posted. Guess at least we now know your achilles heal.

And to add an extra twist when it was eventually won the person who won it gifted half of the money back to the church! Conspiracy?!

Religious types do seem to pick and choose which parts of their religion suits them :)

My apologies for misunderstanding the entire point of a public forum :)

Perhaps I should only post snarky sarcastic comments and use a smiley once every 2 years.

I'd love to reply but I already full-filled my daily post quota, very sorry about that :|

I have to bring down my 0.84 posts per day average to a more reasonable level of 7.47 like Derek, was not aware that foreigners are not allowed past 0.50 so must have missed that in the forum rules. Again, very sorry for the inconvenience.

But in all seriousness I'm none of the above :) Not like it matters, only really said 2 words about religion (Run Derek) anyway but many new avatars around so the confusion is understandable.

Just kidding of course, ignore the above post. If you have a moment I'd love to talk to you about our lord and savior Grand Archon Tom Cruise.

Not a great place to bring up any religion granted and I've come across some crazy Bible bashing American fundamentalists on my journey which would find all sorts of Bible quotes out of context to throw at people. I was just mentioning a soft target as I always thought as Christians that way myself, many wouldn't attempt to throw a light hearted joke about other religions in fear of all sorts of repercussions. I'm not going around to cancel humour or friends far from it, never entertained my mind to put cancel culture on Ricky Gervais since changing my personal views.

UC Berkeley History Professor's Open Letter Against BLM, Police Brutality and Cultural Orthodoxy
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/ano ... -and-logic

An anonymous history professor at U.C. Berkeley has penned an open letter against the current narratives of racial injustice underpinning the BLM movement and ongoing protests over the death of George Floyd.
The vast majority of violence visited on the black community is committed by black people. There are virtually no marches for these invisible victims, no public silences, no heartfelt letters from the UC regents, deans, and departmental heads. The message is clear: Black lives only matter when whites take them. Black violence is expected and insoluble, while white violence requires explanation and demands solution. Please look into your hearts and see how monstrously bigoted this formulation truly is.

No discussion is permitted for nonblack victims of black violence, who proportionally outnumber black victims of nonblack violence. This is especially bitter in the Bay Area, where Asian victimization by black assailants has reached epidemic proportions, to the point that the SF police chief has advised Asians to stop hanging good-luck charms on their doors, as this attracts the attention of (overwhelmingly black) home invaders. Home invaders like George Floyd. For this actual, lived, physically experienced reality of violence in the USA, there are no marches, no tearful emails from departmental heads, no support from McDonald's and Wal-Mart. For the History department, our silence is not a mere abrogation of our duty to shed light on the truth: it is a rejection of it.

Yes, I'm sure Peter is absolutely fuming at Derek for providing the most forum liquidity :) And we all clearly hate Derek for it too. But I will admit that the forum is a distraction for me, and will 100% agree that I post wayyyyy too much for my liking. Ideally I'd like it to be 0 posts but my presence is nothing more than a compliment to some of the guys here that I genuinely like.

I get that you're bored from taking potshots at Frank and you're maybe on the lookout for a new forum arch-nemesis, but the only new relationship that I'm looking for right now is one that can help alleviate my quarantine blue balls situation so I'm not really interested :) Flattered sure, for comparing me to a near flawless Greek demigod in Achilles or whatever, but still definitely not interested.

And don't worry, I'll piss off soon as proper football comes back in a couple days ;) Not because of you obviously so no offense there, but because this distraction has been long overdue.

Ferru, Iron, Jeff or whatever he's now called used to provide a lot of forum liquidity. He was very inquisitive and would elicit answers from others. If you look at his latter posts he seemed to become a different person.

Not sure I've the time to reply to all those assumptions, Kai.

At the end of the day it's a forum, if people are gonna get upset when people respond to their posts ,it's probably best they don't post contentious issues. Think I lost count of the number of aliases Jeff threatened to leave the forum with.

It's hard to look at his latter posts without knowing his present identity. SweetLyrics is the last user name I've known him to use.
