Man City v Arsenal should be a whole lot more revealing. Villa v Sheef U has turned out to be a stand-off.

Wonder what the chances were of the first game back ending in a VAR controversy!

Hate the crowd noise Sky are pumping over their 401 channel, its just that... noise.
Their UHD channel doesn't have any crowd noise, just the shouts (muffled) from players

Was that the last time we've seen David Luiz in the PL? Barring a major injury crisis at Arsenal, surely so.

Also, what in the whole world of ****s was Ederson thinking? There's being rash, and then there's being stupidly reckless. I'm not expecting 22 players, well 21 players as one was knocked out, to stand around with a sombre look for the full 7-8 minutes, but seeing Ederson smirking at whatever Sterling asked him, while his teammate was having his neck braced...

I don't look at the stats very often but … if 2 shots were on target and 0 (zero) shots were blocked doesn't that suggest 2 goals were scored?!!

The whole of the ball has crossed the whole of the line … has the FA started recruiting blind assessors? They should charge themselves of bringing the game into disrepute!

Well done a great result. Intrigued with your screen layout showing prices at various intervals throughout the match.I cant find anything in the guide about this and would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction as to where i might get such a layout.

Here's the final stats for the ManCity v Arsenal 3-0 game.

The shots on target/total shots, corners/blocked shots in combination with attacks( Dangerous) are all evidence of domination/momentum during the game in-play. If could of ended 0-0 or 0-1, but the probability would be very high.

I watched the stream in comparison with the data and wanted to compare with the sofascore website too. There will be times I can't be arsed to watch the game or need to make an appraisal of a load of games to anticipate what may or may not happen. (at Half Time)

This one gives the possession and big chances which can be important to gain an overall assessment.

Over the last few years I found the sofa score website best for the attack/momentum bars as a more reliable guide. There are slight differences in the information, but over time it all works out.

On this one it wasn't a surprise to see a goal just before HT and throughout the second half how ineffective Arsenal were overall. It was easy to trade the correct score market with this information. (or the unders/overs)

Also there's book out there:

Paul Steele.jpg

It covers an important section on converting shots on target/shots off target and corners into an actual score line (after the result is known).
It's good to review a game to see if there was a lucky result and can be factored into R&D before the next game.

eg: Last year, on the stats, Leeds were losing games/not winning games that they should have won. Their efficiency in front of goal was 16% compared to a standard 35%...that costs them promotion....however this year seems to be a different story! :D

Thanks for the explanation Wearthefoxhat I wasn't really questioning how people use the stats and how they can be interpreted, I was just making the point that if there were 2 shots on target and no shots were blocked then surely those 2 shots must have gone in the goal unless they were hit with such little effort that they stopped before crossing the line. Alternatively the shots were not on target. In a strange way it amused me. :)
