I seem to have a lot of liability sat in markets that I can't see current matched bets for any more. Anyone else seeing a lot of dog races going suspended and not closing for ages today ?
This is what I noticed earlier. At some meetings (Nottingham was one) a market would form at the time of the race and just sit there. No pictures available. William Hill do free dog pictures none there either. The markets would just sit there unsuspended for ages. Also no twitter from the tracks to give any indication of delays, abandonments etc.
Had s sudden influx of funds not long after I posted. Like Bf suddenly released it all.

Nice day's botting, helped by a rare £200 win though. I'll be catchng up with Memphis soon.

I'm used to disappointment, Rik.

My bot picks up the odd £200 wins once in a blue moon but I know they're all there waiting to be taken :( Same as with the Aus races, one day I'll stay up late or even do the dogs manually and try to get more of them.

Run-of-the-mill sports traders are a strange breed, you don't find many other professions posting copies of their invoices.

If you don't think botters can't make the same money as you rik then you don't know the right ones. The vast majority of the genuinely big players, 7 figures+ are 100% automated but you're not going to find them here, there's a whole universe beyond this small pond.

Would most fully automated players use excel or Guardian? I heard a few people mention excel is slightly slower than Guardian in some cases.

I imagine the very big players have custom designed bots and nothing to-do with Excel and/or BA.

Yep, there's no doubt you can use BA to make very substantial amounts and it's a really decent tool, but it has limitations being a jack of all trades comsumer level product no matter how good it is. The cost of entry to to world of custom software is prohibitive for most people and speculative too with no guarentees. With lost earnings you're probably looking at 100k to get properly tooled up and that might pay off, or might not.

Wow thats a big investment.
I'm just getting started with automation in your opinion should I be looking to use excel too or is there any point? Can Guardian do everything that excel can?

I wouldn't worry about speed, but if you can do something in Guardian it's always going to be faster than via Excel because of the fewer process steps. Needing functionality you don't have in Guardian is why people would choose Excel, or simply familiararity if you already have VBA skills. Unless you're going to build your own software and a stripped down operating system for it to sit on (like LinisP) and then situate it across the road from Betfair DataCentre, speed won't be your edge.
