Hi,
I built a bot recently which was very nice and easy to do with BetAngel's automation feature in Guardian. Most of the time it works well, but occasionally I noticed some strange behaviour. The bot is designed to cancel unmatched bets in some situations then place a lay bet at the best reverse market price plus one tick. the amount of this bet is set to the net stake.
Occasionally I've noticed that the bot is placing the lay bet for $5 at a price of 1.01. So both the price and the stake are incorrect. I caught it red-handed in the act today and had a look at the log files. The only clue was that the exception was thrown below:
Exception: Exception of type 'BetAngelHelper.APINGException' was thrown.
Not overly helpful as I'm guessing this is a fairly standard exception that covers a lot of different errors.
After this I turned off automation for the market in question and went to the ladder view. I cancelled existing bets and tried to manually put a bet on for $1 at a price of around 4. The lay bet was put on, but again it was at 1.01 for a stake of $5. Strange behaviour. Is this a known bug? If so is it at BetAngel's end or Betfair's (I should have thought to try and put a bet on through the betfair UI but unfortunately I didn't)?

I have version 1.54.2 now. This issue with laying a bet and it being placed at 1.01 is still happening, although less frequently. The bets also seem to be placed at 1.02 now rather than 1.01. Is there any word yet from Betfair about if and when it will be fixed at their end?

In the bottom right corner of your blue login window does it show V1.54.2b?
If not you need to re-download and install it again, yesterday morning Betfair made further changes (after the initial BA fixed was uploaded), so later in the morning we had to add anothe fix to the fix, the download links are still the same but this has worked fine for users since they downloaded yesterday

Big thanks again to the Bet Angel team for getting the fix out so fast. I am now on the b version.
I've read a bit more about this and it sounds like they are trying to avoid bets with less than a few cents liability. Which is fair enough I guess. How does the Bet Angel work around get past this. Does it just increase the green bet slightly so that it is above the allowed level? So we would have slightly uneven greening values (a much better scenario than no greening at all)?
