Hi All

I'm probably missing something here but when I try to register my download I get this message every time...

Bet Angel was unable to connect to Betfair with those account details.

Betfair gave the following reason:
An exception was thrown during login: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.

I have tried 'unlocking' my firewall and have viewed the Bet Angel help section but cannot find anything else much to examine.

I have watched the register/activation video and there is a difference where the screen before the message appears asks for my password but the video shows a request for my email address.

Is it an issue at the Bet Angel end or is it something I should pursue with Betfair?

Thanks for your help.

We all would have had a similar message when we tried to connect a little earlier to Betfair as Betfair's sytem was down while they performed some maintenance - have another go now that they're back up.

If you download and install the diagnostics tool
https://www.betangel.com/download/?product=Diagnostics

Following installation just run through each test and email the results to support
https://betangel.kayako.com/conversation/new/2

Also include a copy of the original error message you posted in your OP

Hi Dallas

Thanks, I have downloaded and run but could only get to test 4.

A couple of things I have found out from running the test...

I don't use IE as a browser, only Firefox and Chrome (currently logged in and using Betfair in Chrome)

I did not notice that Bet Angel needs Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 to run, I am trying to run on XP.

These may be the reasons for the failures, I'm not sure. That won't be a problem shortly as I will be investing in a new PC within the next few weeks, probably quicker now!

Anyway log file produced to test 4 as below.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, it will be your OS

Since Betfairs security update earlier this year you need a minimum of Windows 7 with SP1 and all updates installed, then Internet Explorer 11 for all the addition security ciphers BF now require.

So you won't be able to use Bet Angel or any other API software unless it meets the requirements above.

I'd also suggest you go straight to Windows 10, Microsoft have stopped updating Win7 now, so the next update from BF will almost certainly cut off access for all Win7 users

Yes, already looked and picked what I'm getting and will be windows 10.

Already had this PC too long (2005) and was using Bet Angel back in the day!

All the best and thanks for your help.
