Finally got https://www.thegreyhoundrecorder.com fully scraped today. Every dog, every stat table. Should be interesting now ;)
i take it that you were meaning https://www.thegreyhoundrecorder.com.au, i.e. the AUS dogs.

shame there's no underlaying *private api* calls, tho everything does seem to be laid out in easy to navigate class names etc.. so should be easy to maintain, should minor changes to the structure come about (as they inevitably will) ;)
Yup, miscopied the link.
I've not even mastered API calls for webscraping as yet, though I've used some JSON when scripting for work. Need to look at that.

I don't think my code is that efficient yet, I need a bit more practice, but it's a once a day run so I'm not too fussed. Lot of pages though - approx 10 meets and 12 races per meet.
I've commented it all like crazy so hopefully shouldn't take much to edit any changes.

Anyone heard of the Greyhound heatmap system and does it show any promise ?

Thought i would create my own Greyhound Heat Map System.

In this example today, Trap 3 gets the biscuit. :)

Interesting question is, fluke, luck or is this why the dog happens to be the current favoruite on Betfair.

Interesting the actual winner (T4) has the best time over 30 days along with a strong topspeed figure.

I've been doing something similar for straight lays, based on about 6 different stats.
23 lay winning run at the moment. Not a lot of large priced outsiders either

Yeah, think i have noticed a pattern if a dog has the fastest time over the last 30 days and has the highest or 2nd highest topspeed figure, they dont always shorten in price for trading purposes but have a high win/place strike rate.

Nice!

The grader will often "put one in" with a chance, often in T3 or T4 so not to make it too obvious.

With the stats like Archerys' and yours, they can be quicker to spot, also the over hyped ones for laying.

I'd say T6 is the better drawn and preferred over T5.

Not sure about the market mover.

Best time anomaly on T3 as well.

I've been ignoring the site posted best time and calc'ing my own from the form table. Having to assume that IS accurate though.
Wondering if its worth a best time/speed based on trap as part of that

My assumption as well but it should be Best Time is for the current race distance or its immaterial. Not an issue if manually trading but would play havoc on auto. That's why I calculate it myself
