Hi

Here is a spreadsheet for football
Hopefully be helpful for some
It uses Poisson and the home and away tables
I use soccerstats to update tables
EDIT The tables can be found in columns Q and AD
I hope there are no gremlins in it
Any questions please ask

Thanks Euler but I dont know how to drag and drop

This is link for website I use
https://www.soccerstats.com/homeaway.asp?league=england
Go to Statistics and choose first in menu ie home away

for home Table copy from 1Liverpool down to Norwich 15
click on P50 paste down to Y69
Repeat process for Away Table copy1 Liverpool to Norwich 6
paste into AC50 to AL69

Hope this makes sense

Edit . Tried drag and drop but says invalid file extension doc.x

Any reason why you haven't automated that part. Excel can import external data and could simply use a button to kick off any VBA scraping routine. Might be worth considering.

Thanks for suggestion SB
I can update all leagues in minutes manually and dont on a daily basis mainly
so eg UK leagues, I may update Thursday for weekend
and concentrate on them

I also do not have vba skills

You don't need vba skills. You use what they call a Power Query and it walks you through the process. You can have the entire soccerstats site in your spreadsheet if you want. Set it up once then update anytime with one click.

If you want data from any stats site then watch this vid https://youtu.be/BuXLaQt9oEo
(19mins and you can skip the first 6mins if you have an especially short attention span)

No need to get into anything techy or code or macros or vba, web scraping is all built into Excel. Creating this table below took about 10 seconds....and it will update automatically. As I said you can grab everything off soccer stats with one click if you like, if you do a little work up front and it really is a little work.

It''s from a good little series of videos that megarain posted a link to a while ago. Essential viewing if you're into data.
