1 bet won £10 1 bet lost £10 so you just created a free bet , to make a profit you need to use greening

I backed $10 before the game @2.1 odds. and then i layed $10 to close my position @1.9. Was trying to get in and out quick.

Am i not doing this correctly?

You made a profit on the selection not the whole market. If the game had of ended with less than 2.5 goals you would have seen a small profit returned but this game clearly had more than 2.5 goals so you won nor lost anything. Like Jim Royale said, you need to take a look at Greening :)
