I'm sure this is a waste of all your times...... but i'm new to all this trading stuff... I have a simple rule in place lay 2 horses with greening etc... but how do I add a "condition" to only lay, say second fav if 7 or less in the race?

The rule you create would by applied to selection 'By Position (sorted in order of favourtism) 2'
Then there is a 'Number of Selection Condition' you can add, here you'd use less than 8
