I have tried to use the make button on the one click screen to make sure its not my happy clicking that is getting me into trouble. I checked the graphs and thought it was pretty flat not much movement so I clicked make! I then check on the ladder screen and the price is drifting. its only a 20p lay but the green figure is clicking up. how do you combat this? I know I could wait to see if the price shortend? or should I turn off greening? that way I only lose 20p bet.

and if I had had the lay taken and the bet not taken, then the liability is much bigger, and I don't really want to let that run? so how do I recover the other way round too?

You can close/a position at anytime by clicking the figure in the trade profit column on either the ladder or one-click screen.

You can then start again and use the 'Make Market' button if you see another chance to scalp a tick

Don't be fooled into thinking that because the graph is level it's going to stay like that. Often it's level due to inactivity. With a bit of experience you'll get a feel for which markets are likely to move sharply and which are more stable.
