I update my firewalls manually every single day , without fail.

And I consider myself fairly carefull.
Being fairly careful is clearly not enough, maybe consider manually updating your firewalls every hour of every single day to avoid haxors in the future.

I'm no security expert but in all seriousness afaik firewalls alone are generally not enough protection, you can look that up online.

So you're saying that Bet Angel unleashed a virus in your system? Isn't it a bit early to start drinking?
Tbf, he's probably an hour or two behind Derek.

You update your firewall manually every day ? Really ? You add passthrough and forwarding rules based on what you are using that day ?

Or do you mean virus definitions ?
No , I do the usual firewall updates on windows 10. I run , betangel , BETDAQ, and BETFAIR,.and a handful more software.
This is not my main comp.it’s my trading laptop.
Windows Update doesn't update the firewall, except on rare occasions when components get updated. I think you really mean, as sniffer66 said, Windows Defender definitions, which gets updated through WU.

The number one rule to solving any computer problem is to ask yourself "Have I done anything wrong?".

Skipping that step can waste a lot of time searching for a virus, spreading misinformation on forums, etc. It's even more likely to be the case when you're a new user.

Exactly.

I think a bit of research into the difference between a firewall and anti-virus is called for. Though some companies do release both together as an app bundle

I do not use the laptop for any other functions. I only connect it to other wider monitors and run BETangel or BETDAQ .
I am cleaning the mess up .should be up and running soon with a bulletproof touch.
Thanks for the advice :)

Before you can clean up and make your computer bulletproof, if there is such a thing, first you need to establish whether Bet Angel has a virus or if there was some other mistake. i.e., is BA some obscure piece of software from a doggie website that's likely to be written by hackers or a highly-praised piece of trading software used by pros with comprehensive discussion and advice. This forum should have a few clues. ;)

Of course there is :)

Speaking of bulletproof and building a fortress, the best way to secure your trading PC is to massively overreact.

Fair play to the OP for seeing and joining in the humour. I thought this was going to turn into a Luke/Nivi thread. :)

On the contrary, it makes a refreshing change. :)

Besides, I'm too pissed to engage in an argument. :D

Just wear one of these and do a coordinated dance on tik tok to beat any virus.
