I have been playing with BetAngel for some time now. Still on minimum stakes because I seem to be going nowhere fast. Some days I make a few pennies and this boosts the confidence. However these small wins and more get wiped out when - for no obvious reason to me - the price just zoom off in the wrong direction and I am left with either risking going in play of taking a loss of several pounds that will wipe the pennies out and more. What I am looking for is a "get out now" button. Something that would calculate the stake and automatically back or lay your position so that you can minimise your loss. I think the Trading Profit Calculator may be part of the key but I am not sure how to operate it of where to get instructions on how to use it.......Any help gratefully recieved.
why dont you start by using the offset features. look at the vids and have an offset of 1 or 2 ticks(with stops). if it goes against you, you will be closed out. read the pdf as well.
if you dont use the offset with stops, you can also press the "c" button, which will close you out at the best available price.

Hi A,
I've been playing for about 17 months now and I too have great difficulty beating the horses, very similar story to yourself, small wins, huge losses (usually produced by an enormous move ripping straight through any stop loss I set). I find that the races the professionals crave (high liquidity) are fatal to me, the manipulation is just too complex for me to understand, the result (the large losses from apparently random moves)reflects the difference in ability.I much prefer low liquidity markets (evening dogs are perfect unless there is a big meeting when the prices behave like the horses. The only drawback is you only have about a minute to do your trading, the moves, to me, are logical, also if you're playing with low stakes the lack of liquidity is irrelevant.
Cheers, P

Hi Alan
if you find yourself unsure of your position and need a quick view then switch to the One Click screen. Just ensure you have a check mark in the Greening box and it should show you your overall position. Just click on that column and Bet Angel will close your position.
WARNING: Just make sure you have not been bookmaking or dutching as this can result in strange totals being displayed. This can be disabled in the options. If you are just trading on horses then the one click should show your profit/liability and you can close out.

Open up your selection in the ladder interface, go into settings and insert your stakes and this will open up to the same stakes every new market.
When you place your initial stake if you look to the left you will see figures in green and figures in red. In green you're in profit and in red you're in a losing position. Make sure you have the greening tab ticked. This will then tell you instantly wether the market is going against you or not and gives you the oportunity to come out quickly when needs must.
Hope this helps

Thaks to all for your constructive advice - seems I have some more research to do! Thanks again......
Start making some detailed notes of your trading and see if there is a pattern to your big losses. When I started out I identified certain races that I kept on messing up in and ended up changing my approach to them to avoid those big hits. You can't stop them completely but at least you can minimise the impact.
