Markets seem to quickly move 5-10 ticks until they get to my order but then they stop and start chipping away 10 or 20 pence. How do they know it's my order?

It's like they know when I am going to try for a few ticks profit and they shift the market 10 ticks in 3 seconds in the opposite direction
