Hi everyone, does anyone know how to get historical data from Betfair on a market like the US Presidential Election 2020? It has been running for nearly 4 years, and I think they don't normally provide historical data until a market has been settled. This would be a shame with this market. Would be great to have a look at trends, and see what has been going on over the last 3 and a half years.
Is there any other way of getting similar data to this, if Betfair don't release it until after the election is finished? Maybe a daily scrape of Oddschecker, or something with Smarkets? Any suggestions would be great!
Historical Data question - help please!
They seem to only release historical data for markets which have been completed.... I could understand that's normal with a horse race or a football match, but the US election 2020 market has been going on for nearly four years! Would be great to get a price history of the main market (and the ancillary markets), but I can't think of a way to do it.

Though if you are not feeling charitable, the Smarkets graphs do provide a decent enough rough guide of the market going back to February 2018, where it lists trumps odds as 3.3, Biden at 28 !
Not sure how accurate these graphs are, though according to the smarkets graph, Trumps shortest price was around start of February this year when he was around 1.67 to Bidens 24 (maybe that price was before his nomination was confirmed).
Biden looked to go favourite around the start of June , the prices came close again at the start of September, then Biden gradually shortened, and trump gradually drifted to where we are now.
