Go to racingpost.com.
Click cards. That will take you to a page with all today’s meetings on.
Top of the list today is Hamilton. Click on the little plus sign next to Hamilton, then it expands and it shows you all today’s races. From 1 pm down to 4 pm.
It then lists all the races in chronological order, and clearly states in the race titles which are handicaps. If it is a handicap, it will say. The nurseries will still say handicap in the title.
I assume you are trying to automate this as this is becoming a lot more complicated than it need be.
If you are not trying to scrape/automate then it’s really not that difficult. Just follow the above steps, and if you still can’t tell which races are handicaps and which are not then I suggest you start looking at a different sport !
How To Properly Identify Non-Handicap Races ?
Fred, are you saying I should give up Horse Racing... are you my wife in disguise haha!
Yes, I had a nice little automated setup which filtered out all the Handicap races by reading the Race Title and ignoring any which had the word Handicap.
Then I discovered that Nursery races are also Handicap - but for some reason are not marked as such by BetFair... which made me wonder what other races Betfair is lying to me about lol.

I see, sounds like more of a computer/betfair I.d problem then.
As I said it’s easy to tell when you’re looking yourself, though I can’t help with the betfair I.d Auto stuff I’m afraid. Though I’m sure I’ve seen something similar asked on the forum before, so someone will know.
