Wasn't aware of that? I'd have to check.
I think Desmond bought the Aussie company that provided the bookies on-track betting systems (hardware/sw). Something like that.

would that include on course bookmakers?
Bookmakers do hedge a little on Betfair, but they mainly hedge on Betdaq. There are no on-course bookmakers at this time.
i am trying to be optimistic for the current situation to return to normal :D

Knew I should have stuck to my guns on not trading Saturdays, all losses so far...
Also, I'm seeing the trait I mentioned before whereby my trade goes into small profit then sits for ages...then swings to big loss. I'm sure if I get a position that doesn't move, I should trade out, as I'm sure the market is in the mode of collecting dumb traders (me!) before giving them all a big loss!!!

Tighter gaps and sharper moves on a Saturday where races are close together.

i think you should start considering the possibility that you may not be cut out for trading horse races.

I might try something different for the rest of today I am going to watch the ladder for the movements that took me out earlier, and then jump on them for a small move...

That's not how sunk cost fallacy works :|

Not at all suggesting Goaty has reached that point, but many certainly do, it's very difficult to tell from the outside what's really going on so I like to give the benefit of the doubt instead.

Some may see the thread as just a normal process with an aspiring trader basically openly thinking out loud (that's how I see it), some may see a person completely wasting their time, while others may see it as a bit of inspiration or education, and I'm sure some may even suspect that it's someone just fishing for a working strategy through sympathy which does work sometime, be it on accident or on purpose.

The moves seem very sharp, unless you anticipate them you won't get on them
