What should I be making from £10 per click scalping racing?

Hi guys first time post so apologies if this has been asked previously.

I’ve been scalping pre-off racing for around 9-12 months, started off on practice mode, then £2 stakes and now I’ve moved up to £10 per click. My question is what profit should be made using £10 per click?

I have a good strike rate, and I’m averaging £1-£1.50 per race (50p low end up to £3 high end). I’m obviously inexperienced but I want to focus on the technique and learn at this stake range for another couple of months before thinking about scaling up again, but I’m worried my good strike rate is because I’m leaving money on the table?

My strategy has always been around efficiency, it’s harder to recoup losses than avoid them to start with, so I fear I may be too risk averse and I exit too early. Generally I trade between 10-15 races per day, I make sure I do that as basically learning the skills needed.

Welcome.

Not a direct answer to your question.

Things I think about, fill rate, matched market volume, how much of the market can you be and the mental side, the itchy trigger finger. If you keep notes about the market and why something did or did not work and what you observed, what you did, what the market did and how you reacted. Then read over those notes at the end of the session you will learn much.

I removed part of the mental side for me by automation. Now for me it is a matter of choosing the right automation for the market.

Thanks for the reply much appreciated.

I hadn’t considered making notes to review how I traded that’s something I can definitely implement going forward.

My main concern is maximising how efficient I can be, but knowing what the maximum is I can get out of my stakes and skill level is so difficult to gauge in racing.

I find automation works wonders for my football trading, but I don’t think I have a translatable edge in racing to make the most of automation, I’m really just trading order flow and reading the markets to the best of my ability.
