Is it just me, or does this seem a bit harsh?

My dentist has bad breath, but I'm not about to make a formal complaint to the General Dental Council!

If a dentist regularly extracted healthy teeth or knowingly gave patients fillings they didn't need, then fair enough, strike them off. But I don't think that flatulence should end someone's career!
