Fixed back odds

Probably a basic function but I don't know it
I would like to be able to place back bets before the off / kick off at a fixed price and I don't know how to do it as the default setting is to place the bet at the current price
Tried it manually inplay but the lag between entering and actual placement means it doesn't work

Sorry I should have explained better
I did set fixed odds but I want to place the bet before the start so it's there already if the price is met
I did set fixed odds to place 10 seconds before the start but it didn't fire

That's usually an issue with your refresh rate. Make sure that you give the bet window enough breathing space so set it to arm at 10 secs before until say 1 sec before.

Sounds like you are wanting to back at a price lower than it currently is?

If so using a fixed odds condition is the way to do it, but Betfair always match bets at the best price as soon as you submit them so you can't place it in advance to be matched if the price shortens.

The fixed odds condition will stop the rule from submitting the bet until your specified price is reached but then you'll still have to wait for the in-play delay before it appears in the market.

If you weren't bothered about what odds you were matched at you could do something like use a fixed odds condition
Price is less than 2.0

but place the bet at 1.01

So it will always be matched but this includes at very low prices

Got a question
Set up a bot to place bets at between 1.01 and 1.1once in play but it placed a bet on match odds at 1.94 after the match had been going 30 minutes
Do I possibly need to play around with unsuspended time conditions ?

Yes, otherwise if BF suspend for a dangerous attack, penalty, sending off etc which will see most the money cancelled, as it unsuspends that can cause the bet to trigger prematurely and before it reforms around its previous price.

If there's a genuine goal and the price has now shortened because of it then the bet will still trigger after the unsuspended time condition you set as your price condition is still met

Yes, anywhere from 60-90secs is what I use, use a longer time if trading lower leagues where there's less money and it takes more time for the market to start reforming
