The government were paying people to eat out a few weeks ago and are now closing pubs + restaurants again. Clowns.SAGE are a bunch of upper-middle class midwit commie fuck-pigs.
What they haven’t yet worked out is that their gold plated public pension promises won’t be worth a wank if they carry on destroying the economy.
they are not "fuck pigs" they are scientists whose jobs ( in sage) is to present the science to government and not the economics etc, that is not their function.superfrank wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 5:01 pmtwitter comment

Yes, that was clearly a big mistake and now a u-turn. With any luck, after the next lockdown we'll be eating out again at half price.superfrank wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 5:01 pmtwitter comment

The extent of the restrictions for the new lockdown isn't important. All that really matters is whether or not they decide to call it tier 4.

Most sport is set up to function now without any attendees so I don't see why not?spreadbetting wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 5:21 pmWonder if they'll let all sports continue, would be good for another complete lockdown so we can have a pre Xmas break.
Let's see, that would be a bummer of a way to end the year.
Did see something earlier from the Premier League who said they are confident they will be able to continue this time, stressing they've had only 2 positive cases from something like the last 1.6k tests but will release a full statement after they've seen all the detailsspreadbetting wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 5:21 pmWonder if they'll let all sports continue, would be good for another complete lockdown so we can have a pre Xmas break.

Exactly. All the people making these decisions won't lose a single day's pay during this crisis, and will have nice index-linked pensions to look forward to - all funded by people who create wealth.
