Hi All,
I'm new & not a BA user (yet ..) but am fishing for as much info on a topic because I'm in a big dispute with Betfair.
In an Outright Winner market, I placed a bet at 8-9/1 via Mobile Android & Betfair Exchange seemingly automatically matched the vast sum of the bet at crazy low odds of between 1.01-2.02 - which only a lunatic would have consciously agreed to. The screen flashed through & odds seemed to be being matched automatically without my input. Betfair argue I manually input the wrong odds - which is not the case. 90secs later the correct odds were available to bet on. Sounds fishy to me but I need more wider opinions from users who regularly monitor Betfair platform performance etc..
I've searched this forum & can see lots of unhappy posts about Betfair performance / API interfacing issues over the last 18mths but - specifically - I'd be keen to hear of any similar stories, especially if they occurred during the Semi-Final weekend of the Rugby World Cup (i.e Sat/Sun 26th/27th Oct 2019 around 8.15-8.30am each day - just before kick offs) or any Sports related bet on the Exchange that weekend that exhibited similar behaviour.
Similarly, if you feel you can explain the issue I'm all ears .. Any info / leads welcomed.
Cheers
Betfair Web/Mobile issues - matching automatically at crazy low odds like 1.01 etc..?
Hi .. yes, I did. I have confirmation set as default. It usually prompts me to then cancel or accept the remainder of the stake at the next best available set of odds. I did accept odds from roughly 9.5 down to about 8.0 but then the screen seemed to take on a life of it's own with the odds whizzing through like a slot machine & then stating everything had been matched. I knew something was up so I checked the aggregated odds & drilled down & was shocked to see that the vast majority of the remaining stake had been matched at between 1.01-2.02 which was insanely low. I called BF help immediately (i.e 30mins before kick off) & they said they'd refer to the Trading team the next day given it was Sunday. They even accused me of using Bots but then rolled back on it when they saw my betting history didn't support that accusation. I've since found out that BF apparently have their own Bots to smooth markets out, so I'm thinking software issue. Also, they say my bet skewed the market but it was a Rugby World Cup Semi so there must have been hundreds of thousands of pounds depth/liquidity. I'm sure I wasn't the only one affected by this as the same market showed crazy odds matched for nearly twice my stake according to BF Community posts at the time. From then on they've been trying to fob me off, so I took to IBAS.
I'm afraid I can't really comment as I don't use the app. The only thing I can think of, when you got a message saying the bets not fully matched asking you if you want to take 8.0, were they 'live' odds that change with the market, possibly before you press the submit button?
They should have been live odds & even if they weren't they shouldn't have jumped all the way down to 2.02 etc.. it's as if 7.0, 6.0, 5.0 etc.. never existed to be matched to & each time it hit a new step change down it should have prompted me to accept or not.
