That didn't stop Wenger blaming the referee, however! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 419995.stm

I guess it's easier to blame the referee than your own players...

Was ridiculous sending off to be fair,

but i think Arsenal would have needed 20 players to get anything from last nights game.

I didn't see it.

But I'd be surprised if Van Persie was entirely blameless. Gary Linekar managed to avoid picking up a single yellow card ever (including when he was a schoolboy!).

Also, what managers often forget when complaining about referees is that, over the course of a season, as many bad decisions will go in their favour as against them!

No doubt Barcellona is the best team in the world and one of the best of all time but, it has to be said that without some scandales referee decisions Barcellona would have not won the last 2 champions league (2006-2009)

The ref blew the whistle for offside, 1 second (official) later RVP shoot, 95,000 screaming fans. Even if he did hear the whistle 1 second isn't really enough time to react. It was a bizarre decision that ruined the game. You won't see that ref again for a while I'll wager.

Barca are an incredible team, and no doubt were superior, but that call was outrageous.

Wow, maybe its time to stop betting on italian teams ;)

Sorry but I think the Spurs have this one in the bag and even with a draw then Spurs still qualify on the away goal.

I, personally, have layed off AC Milan, so if there are no goals or Spurs score first then should be able to green up for a nice profit but I'm thinking AC Milan won't do much so probably will be able to let the trade ride for even bigger profit...

AC Milan and Tottenham will both be going for it tonight, so it's an impossible match to call, whatever the dark liquidity says! :)

£2.8m matched on the Spurs match vs £800k on the Shalke match. Each choice.

It would be a significant win for Spurs and everybody is rooting for them.

Therefore I will base my strategy around AC Milan

2k down in 2011 not overoll.. I will stick with my back bet...without spending crazy money Italian clubs have played almost 50% of all european cup finals.. The odds are always high and out of the blue they outplay even stronger teams then Tottenham...I hope tonight will go our way...

Inconclusive first half but AC Milan look the more dangerous. Spurs will need to score to be sure of going through I think. AC Milan could nick a goal at any moment.

Is it just me, or have the odds of a draw decayed a bit rapidly?

If both sides were hardly trying, then I could understand the draw odds being so low, but the teams are really going for it!

Not many clear cut chances, tight defences I'd say the market was discounting a lower chance of a goal.

I'm tempted with some speculative money on AC Milan in the last ten minutes. They have nothing to lose and all to gain by pummelling the Spurs goal.
