It isn't just the customers losing, Betfair's share price is now nearly back to its pre-announcement of moving offshore price. Looks like the gains they experienced from this move were short lived. Not that that really helps us when the site goes down.

does anyone know the real reason for all these problems?
when I first started trading I used BetTr@der PRO from Racing Traders - it suddenly became unavailable (server problems they said) and they rushed in EVO which was a disaster - it turned out that there was some kind of dispute within the company and BetTr@der PRO disappeared deliberately (all denied at the time of course).
I switched to Bet Angel after that.
why does "BetTrader" disappear if written alone on here (without the @/quotes)?!!!

The reason for BT going was to do with a fatal flaw in the way in which it had been coded it had been a ticking time bomb and the failure was known to be coming to almost the exact date, it came slightly earlier than had been thought for a certain reason. It had nothing to do with any dispute in the company.
Adam did one of his best trades by off loading the mess on to Tony.
The current Betfair issues will be due to the fact that they are a hugely complicated system and moving such a system out of one country into others is certain to have issues. When will they end, I don't think anyone including Betfair will know, chances of them continuing for the time being, imo high.
Next week is going to be a good stress test for the systems but tbh the outages seem to be happening not due to load at present as they are often occurring in quieter times of the week.

Because we had historical problems with people coming onto the forum to spam. There are a number of phrases automatically blocked because of this. It's similar to if you try and type Betdaq on the Betfair forums.superfrank wrote:why does "BetTrader" disappear if written alone on here (without the @/quotes)?!!!

Thanks for the info - I heard different at the time.andyfuller wrote:The reason for BT going was to do with a fatal flaw in the way in which it had been coded it had been a ticking time bomb and the failure was known to be coming to almost the exact date, it came slightly earlier than had been thought for a certain reason. I have to say that I really liked BT - it had a great look and feel and never crashed on me, unlike, ahem, BA!
I couldn't see the point of going browser based with EVO - it just introduced an extra level of complexity. I said so on the forum but they got all defensive and deleted my thread!
