Excel and Automation

Hi there,
I'm a newbie and I was hoping someone could steer me in the right redirection? I've created an excel sheet which works. Basically it places a "back" when certain criteria are met in an "in play" condition.
I'm struggling with adding the "allow a rule to trigger up to X times / unlimited triggers and wait x seconds before rearming"in the Automation section.
I have the formula in excel for how many triggers and rearm I would like it to perform.
I'm struggling to add that Automation rule to my excel sheet. I can't seem to make it work. Unsure how to make it select the runner from my excel sheet..
Ideally I would like to have the excel sheet perform the triggers and rearm but unsure if that is possible?
I've searched the forum and can't seem to find anything.
Was hoping if someone could point me in the right direction, being from a previous forum or some help?
