They should take everything offline until fixed!
disgraceful stuff. they don't seem to care at all about their reputation - maybe they figure it's too far gone to give a stuff.

Joking aside, it has to be worth a try. I'm sure it could be explained to a judge in terms that they'd understand.

jeff i did not mean to sound flippant. i agree but a judge as far as i am aware, will only interpret the law. if betfairs t ^ c are legal/comply with the various laws, he cant find them guilty. a judge cant change the law.

plus i reckon it would cost an absolute fortune, getting a lawyer to look at the case etc.

Hi mate

I have just withdrawn mine.

I would rather trade elsewhere or not at all than put up with this.

It is my full time income and I am not willing to risk it on a scond class service like Betfair

I know. :)

I know, but it's all a matter of interpretation. What's to stop the judge saying "In my opinion, Betfair's t&c's are unlawful", citing some obscure precedent or legal principle?

This is why, for years, the banks settled out of court when people were claiming for penalty charge refunds. They knew that otherwise they risked setting a dangerous precedent and opening the floodgates.

I think there are limits to your liability for the other side's costs with small claims courts cases, but it's worth looking into.

Also, I suspect that Betfair would do what a high street bank did when I was suing them to recover penalty charges, ie bluff and bluff, and then chicken out days before the court hearing. Even if they won, it would create a news story that isn't in keeping with their cuddly, winner-friendly image!

I had about 5 open positions on the football, i used
betdaq to get out, had to take some daft prices like, but better than being wiped out.

Even when Betfair came back for a few minuates i did't close any positions on there as i suspected that it would go down again and it did of cause :( .

I used to trade a few years ago, purely for extra money not as a sole income. I always thought I could make a living comfortably from trading and the one thing that always held me back was the lack of confidence in the Betfair trading platform.
It seems nothing has changed and they still treat their customers with utter contempt.
Maybe it's time to give Betdaq a chance, I know the liquidity is low but if enough traders move accross en-masse that would improve, also the more people who use BD the less are using BF and that is the only thing BF will understand.
