Hi I am new to betangel. I placed an offset with trailing stop bet on a football match in the morning. The bet was matched the offset bet was showing in unmatched bets aswell as the price of the stop. I logged out of betangel then logged back in about 5 hours later and the stop seems to have gone.
I traded out then placed the bet again and this time added it to guardian thinking that that might have been the problem. Then logged out and logged back in again but i think again the stop is gone.
Surely stops shouldnt just vanish if you log out or go to bed or have a power cut or whatever. Usually I trade big football games from when the market opens or over 2 or 3 days at least so I want stops that are there when I am not sat at the computer.
Thanks for any help.
Do stop losses dissapear if you log out?
Betfair does not allow the use of 'pending' orders.
Stop's, offsets and all other triggered bets are simply instructions you give the software on when to send the bet/s on your behalf, ie, for a stop loss - green up if 'X' price is reached
Without being logged onto Bet Angel and having an active connection to Betfair the software has no idea whats happening in a market and when to send the bet or anyway to send it if there is no actual connection.
You would need to use a VPS if you wanted to maintain an active connection at all times without the need for your own laptop/PC to be left on

I dont think so. How do I do that thanks. From what Dallas says it seems it cant happen in quite the way I want anyway.
Thank you for explaining. I think I found if I put my computer in sleep mode then nothing changes and stops are still active. So hopefully that can do the job for now. VPS could be an option in the future if I have scaled up a lot.Dallas wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 11:35 amBetfair does not allow the use of 'pending' orders.

The 'keep' persistence option won't help because if logged out the stoploss won't fire anyway.
Are you sure about that? I've never tried it but waking a computer up from sleep usually requires a hardware signal so I'd be surprised if BA can do that to monitor the market.trader4 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 2:19 pmThank you for explaining. A typical laptop uses 50 watts - less than an old lightbulb. At the risk of wasting a few pence on electricity you might be better off taking to75ne's advice.
