I am sure the market was still open there when I just heard the result on ATR of the photo finish - not enough time to react off ATR but if oncourse you would have had plenty - worrying start to the day!!!

Just had it confirmed from a fellow trader - they heard the result on ATR and placed their bet and got on! Shocking state of affairs again Betfair!

To clarify, did they place their bet after the race was won?

Did Betfair cancel all bets after the race was over, or did his bet get honoured?

He placed the bet when he heard the result via ATR and was paid out - obviously I am only going off his word. Also when you think of the time delay on ATR compared to on track there would I am certain have been ample time to have got on if you were on track.

I hope Betfair will refund the guy at the other end of that bet (although I doubt it!). They shouldn't be allowing people to bet on events that have ended...

TBH no different to all the tennis courtsiders and the like. Just wasn't like BF to suspend on time as they usually are spot on with suspending for the photos. There can't have been that many who managed it as it wasn't like it spiked down to 1.01 or anything.

that is pretty bad, although its still not 100% guaranteed is it? what if there was an objection from the clerk of the scales??

Correct - as BF have said before, the race is not over until the weighed in signal is given. The race does not end with the past the post result given. Just thought it odd how slow they were suspending as they are usually spot on.
