If you are trading in-play then you need Sky at the very least.
If not then bear in mind that Betfair video or other online pictures are significantly delayed. William Hill Radio is a good 30 seconds delayed most of the time I think. If I have no TV I use sportinglife.com web site, click on Live Shows and select the race. At least this has statements like 'going down', 'going behind', 'loading' and 'under orders'. So once they are loading or under orders I would bail out of trading. You may have to hit the refresh button on the web site close to the off as it only refreshes itself about every 30 seconds I think. Hope this helps.

Talking about Sky Racing. What's the delay in the picture from say a UK race to Australia.??
What I notice is trading on Aussie races (IN PLAY) I
can cancel my bet if required but if I am operating on
UK races the troops grab my hard earn't everytime.
This could also be caused by the response time to Betfair is a lot slower during to increased traffic load with the UK being in daylight whereas most of our
Aussie racing takes part in the early morning in UK.
I use a private server (VPS) which is a great device
which pays its monthly sub every raceday.
Interested in opinion on this,
Cheers............Rogerramjet

I doubt there are yet people oncourse betting i/r in Australia - I may be wrong but I doubt they are yet.
Likewise do they have the equivalent of SIS and Turf TV over there which means they see the action upto 4 seconds before those watching on the ATR/RUK equivalent?

Thankyou for your reply Andy.
I queried Sky TV (Our Aust.Provider) by e-mail
but they haven't had the manners to respond.
Don't worry I will pursue this question and keep
you posted.
I have a feeling there is a delay in transmission between your side of the planet and yours.
This In-Play Race betting has only arrived in OZ
since April but I'll tell you something as regards
results there's a profit in this caper where I'm
coming from of laying the field at 1.01
The proviso is of course as I said in my original
post is you have to have the capability of clicking
off a lay-bet if something hits the lead and is in
unbeatable position. That's where you have to have
a transmission that is second to none otherwise you
will wear it every time.
I reckon these jokers must use a computer programme as they hit the swooper 95% of the time.
