Don't be too hasty to lay the field cos the market's overround/broke, it's usually because there's a non runner and things won't always be what they seem ;)

I used to profit from laying the field at an overround of 102-105% over 5-10 minutes. But trying to do it all at once when the book's over broke never appealed to me. It only takes one or two prices to move and there goes all your profit. Doing in IP must be even harder.

Yeah, I remember someone explaining that to me once upon a time. I think Peter hints at there being an opportunity to do it when there is delays but I could of miss read his hints.

Woohoo! After donkeys' years of silently standing losses due to BF's mess-ups, including £300 in yesterday's BF Newbury carry on, a screw-up has finally gone my way. £100 on the Wolves 5:40 winner at 12/1, intended to be laid off, but re-instated by BF after the race.

WD, what actually happened in the race. I'm still confused as to what went on here?

They erroneously made all the horses non-runners about 20 mins pre-race, then re-instated the market, apparently from scratch, about 5 mins pre-off. Bets placed prior appeared to have been voided, but they then re-instated them later.

My automation runs from 10mins pre-off and got nothing from Guardian. I noticed it wasn't working for the 17:40 when I looked at the BA one-click screen about 1 min pre-off and it was blank of all runner/odds details ... it was just saying "suspended".

Bet Angel doesn't appear to have a win market for the 2.40 Punchestown? I mean there isn't a selectable market for it in guardian.

Not sure what the issue is, mine has loaded with the 2:40.

Pleased to hear that weemac. I wish more people would keep a PL for their Betfair cockups. I've been doing it for the last 4 years and have been up every year, but I'd be interested to know how others fare.

What an absolute cock-up, never seen that before. Must be a few sad stories there. ;)

Yes very odd all I could select from the list was a forecast, each way or place market. I managed to do a succesfull manual back to lay trade though on Hurricane Darwin.
