Good old fashioned trial and error is the only real methodology you should need, I'm afraid it's that simple.

Thanks, yes, I fixed a couple of "bugs" as well that I saw in flight. £1 of those losses was probably from that, and also the fact that I now realise if you "save" a change to the ruleset in Guardian and you have in-progress markets the metadata is "reset", ie.all stored values reset etc... Have you tried trading well before the off (scalping) when there is less volatility? You will be surprised on what you can achieve 20-10mins before the off!

That I am discovering, but say I believe in a given setup, and the bot exercises it, I then observe what happens following it over many iterations, i can then maybe see how the market reacts in that particular scenario...
